Banana Nut Bread Step by Step

This recipe for Banana Nut Bread is a very special one. It means so much to our family. My mom was not much of a baker but this was one treat that we would all look forward to when she would make it. Her employer and good friend gave it to her many years ago and she kept the little recipe card with her ever since. The funny thing is my mom never knew how to read  so whenever she made it either me or my sister would have to read it to her. So from my kitchen to yours here is our family's treasured Banana Nut recipe.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons milk
3 ripe bananas
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts

I know the recipe calls for 3 bananas but I only had 2, it was still amazing!

The butter was room temperature but then I melted it for about 10 seconds.

Add sugar and mix well.

Add 2 eggs, mix well.

Add flour and baking powder.

Stir.

Dissolve baking soda in milk, then add it to batter.

Mash bananas and add.

Add vanilla.

Add chopped nuts and stir.

Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake @ 350° for 50 minutes.

Enjoy!

With a cold glass of milk!

Buen Provecho!!
